The Herd

Starla

Top Pig and Zen Warrior. Often found meditating in her hut, she is ready to leap into action at any moment. She is a strict follower of Buddhist temple cuisine, and her loudest wheek is her gong strike to announce mealtime.

Stella

Stella knows how to read a room. Her lookout is the softest fleece tunnel, where she tucks in deeply enough to be nearly invisible, eyes and ears positioned just so. She emerges for Starla's dinner summons, fur fully styled, and ready to engage with lettuce.

Some background on their names - one of us humans suffers from insomnia and for the last decade-plus has listened to a sleep podcast called Sleep With Me, by Drew Ackerman… highly recommended for fellow insomniacs. In every one of the podcast intros, Drew mentions his talent of going on “superfluous tangents” and “pointless meanders” to help you drift off. There was no question when we got our first pair of pigs, they had to be named Tangent and Meander.
